LOCTITE® 435

Features and Benefits

LOCTITE 435 Instant Adhesive is a low viscosity, single component, toughened ethyl cyanoacrylate product that offers rapid bonding and excellent adhesion for a wide range of materials.
LOCTITE® 435 is a colourless, toughened, ethyl-based instant adhesive. It has a fixture time of 10 - 20 secs. It has high resistance to impact and shock loads, high peel strength and is suitable for bonding plastics, rubber, metals, porous and absorbent substrates and acidic surfaces. Good resistance in humid environments.
  • Toughened, clear
  • Ideal for bonding small to medium-size parts
  • Well suited to porous and/or acidic surfaces
  • Well suited to metals, magnets, rubbers and plastics
  • Solvent-free
  • Fixture time of 10 - 20 secs.

How to

Step by Step Guide

1. Preparation - Cleaning

It is recommended to use the correct LOCTITE® cleaner for the surface to be bonded (such as LOCTITE® SF 7063) to degrease and clean surfaces prior to applying the adhesive.

2. Preparation - Priming

To improve adhesion on difficult to bond plastic surfaces, apply LOCTITE® SF 770 to the bond area by brushing or dipping. Avoid applying excess primer. Allow the primer to dry.

3. Preparation - Activation

If cure speed is too slow, use appropriate activator LOCTITE® SF 7455 or LOCTITE® SF 7455. Apply activator to one bond surface by spray, brush or dipping (not primed surfaces). Allow the activator to dry.

4. Application

Apply adhesive to one side or part.Recommended dispensing equipment: for precise dispensing of small amounts of adhesive, use dispensing needles.

5. Assembly

Assemble parts immediately. The parts should be accurately located as the short fixture time leaves little opportunity for adjustment. Bond should be held or clamped until the adhesive has fixtured. Hint: if necessary, excess product can be cured by activator LOCTITE® SF 7455. Spray or drop activator onto excess product.
