MOU inked with Malaysian University 2021

University Technology MARA (UiTM), Malaysia’s largest institution of higher learning have signed an MOU with Henkel on 30th June 2021. This MOU between Henkel and UiTM will use advanced Loctite Purbond adhesive solutions on Malaysian light hardwood to create new engineered wood solutions.

Malaysia is known for its dense tropical rainforest, and traditionally, wood is a product with a strong local Malaysia identity. The partnership goes into studying and growing the potential usage of tropical light hardwood found uniquely in Malaysia to create new engineered wood solutions. Engineered wood is an application field that requires adhesive solutions with a high contribution to sustainability. The result is a solution that is both good for the environment and safer for workers.

Henkel is the global manufacturer and supplier of one innovative component moisture-curing liquid polyurethane adhesive systems for engineered wood. Under the brand

Henkel is pleased to announce the partnership with UiTM. The strategic collaboration with UiTM will stimulate new research and development activities in engineering wood in Malaysia, including the application of new and advanced techniques with our adhesive technology. At the same time, it will encourage the nurturing of engineering talent, amongst both the teaching faculty and the students in the UiTM. It plays an important part of our continuing contribution to the community and driving economic growth in Malaysia for the wood industry.

About UiTM
