Today’s challenge? How to make battery pack perimeter seals more serviceable.
Here’s our answer: LOCTITE ESB 5100.
It’s a warm-applied elastomer that provides a secure seal (like our traditional gasketing technologies) but has a unique tackiness that stays soft. It’s an ideal solution for repair shops because it can be separated easily – with no special equipment or strong force required. It’s also easy for technicians to clean up the contact surface – just grip and unzip the old adhesive.When all repairs are finished, LOCTITE ESB 5100 can be reapplied manually in tube or tape form and get the battery pack back in business with that same reliable seal. In addition this material is pumpable, making it well-suited for automated large-scale production – while providing excellent adhesion on various substrates like composites, plastic or aluminum.
