BONDERITE® M-FE 3649 L is a 1- or 2-part, clear, yellowish liquid pre-painting treatment of spare parts in the automotive, appliances and metal furniture industries. It forms an amorphous phosphatic coating on the treated surface. When parts made from aluminum or galvanized steel are treated in the same line at a high amount (> 10 %), BONDERITE® M-AD 338 should be added to avoid a distortion of the iron phosphating process. Please note: BONDERITE M products are used in the surface modification of metals and usually applied in a multi-stage process. The performance of these surface treatments depends on various factors such as the preceding cleaning or etching steps (BONDERITE C portfolio), line design or process parameters.
- It provides good adhesion for liquid, powder or electrophoretic paints
- Provides an excellent adhesion for organic coatings and improves corrosion resistance
- The adhesion of organic coatings is also improved on galvanized steel and aluminum surfaces
- In combination with a surfactant additive, it provides cleaning and phosphating in the same stage
