How to use
It is recommended to use the correct LOCTITE® cleaner for the surface to be bonded (such as LOCTITE® SF 7070) to degrease and clean surfaces prior to applying the adhesive.
Place cartridge in dispense gun. Remove cap from cartridge. Dispense a small amount so that material is coming out of both sides of cartridge. Attach mix nozzle and dispense a bead at least half of the length of the nozzle. The material is ready to use.
Apply a bead of material to one of the surfaces to be bonded. Join the parts and fixture in a way to prevent movement of the part until handling strength is obtained.
FAQ
A hybrid adhesive is a mix of two adhesive chemistries. For example, the LOCTITE® HY 4090 is cyanoacrylate/epoxy mix.
Yes, hybrids are two-part products. Bumping and purging ensures product is flowing from both sides and mix at the proper mix ratio.
LOCTITE HY 4090 is available in 50 g & 400 g dual cartridges. Nozzles and dispense guns are sold separately.
No, it is not recommended to use LOCTITE HY 4090 for bonding to glass.
Refrigerated storage is not required for this adhesive. Refer to the product TDS for recommended storage.
