A transparent manufacturing process for an optimized value chain

The rapidly evolving aerospace market calls for a solid supply chain where, from the delivery of incoming raw materials on our receiving dock to the finished product at the customer’s application point, transparency and traceability will remain paramount. As aircraft manufacturers face mounting market pressures to increase build rates through continuous improvement and automation best practices, while keeping an eye on sustainability and energy/cost efficiency, reliably standardized production processes and consistent data capture throughout are crucial to ensure repeatability.

Listed in over 5,000 aerospace specifications, Henkel's solutions have been setting industry standards for over forty years. Our products meet stringent regulations and exacting specifications on all the world’s leading aircraft platforms.

The new plant in Montornès del Vallès, Spain is being established as our main European hub servicing global aerospace Tier 1, 2 and 3’s. Our goal is to help original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) meet today's historic production ramp-up and be ready for tomorrow's challenges.

About transparency and traceability

Benefiting from decades of experience at the Montornès site, perfecting value chain processes and operations in the automotive industry, our expanded facilities bring added value to aerospace manufacturers through a smart factory that is fully robotized and optimized for the age of digitization.

Additionally, our Montornès plant for aerospace adhesives incorporates sensors and recorders for a multitude of process parameters to support production repeatability and to ensure quality traceability.

Henkel's aerospace hub has created 55 highly technical positions and filled it with empowered individuals, who are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of efficiency in the development of adhesive products aimed at adding even more value for our aerospace customers, as they adapt to market trends.
