LOCTITE® 567 High Temperature Thread Sealant

Features and Benefits

This low-strength, high-viscosity thread sealant is UL classified and ideal for tapered, coarse threads. It’s specially formulated to offer easy assembly and removal.
LOCTITE® 567 is a white, 1-part thread sealant designed for the locking and sealing of tapered metal pipe threads and fittings. As an anaerobic-curing thread sealant, it cures when confined in the absence of air between close fitting metal surfaces and prevents loosening and leakage from shock and vibration. Its high lubricating properties prevent galling on stainless steel, aluminum and all other metal pipe threads, and allow ease of disassembly. The product offers high temperature performance and oil tolerance. It tolerates minor surface contaminations from various oils, such as cutting, lubrication, anti-corrosion and protection fluids.
  • 1-part: no mixing
  • Doesn’t creep, shrink or block systems
  • Ideal for metal pipes and fittings
  • NSF/ANSI 61 certified
  • Provides an instant low pressure seal
  • UL MH8007 & ULC MH27131 classified

How to

Step by Step Guide

1. Preparation

It is recommended to use LOCTITE® SF 7063 or LOCTITE® SF 7070 Cleaner & Degreaser to degrease and clean surfaces prior to applying adhesive. If cure speed is too slow due to passive metals (stainless steel, aluminum and plated metals) or low temperatures (below 5°C), use LOCTITE® SF 7649 activator. Allow to dry.

2. Preparation - Activation

If cure speed is too slow due to passive metals (stainless steel, aluminum and plated metals) or low temperatures (below 5°C), use LOCTITE® SF 7649 activator. Allow to dry.

3. Application

Apply a 360° bead to the leading male thread, leaving the first thread free. For bigger threads, apply both on male and female threads. For manual dispensing the use of a peristaltic handgun is recommended to ensure a consistent application volume.

4. Assembly

Assemble fittings using wrench tightening in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations.

Disassembly

Disassemble with standard hand tools. If not possible, apply localized heat to approximately 260°C/500°F and disassemble while hot.
