Resins and fully-automated equipment impregnates and seals metal and electronic automotive parts against harsh environmental elements
The Value of Vacuum Impregnation
Vacuum impregnation methods ensure metal and electronics parts of vehicles are fully sealed against fluids, gases and other external influences and ready for just-in-time assembly. After impregnation, all parts are clean, free of corrosion or oxidation, and are ready for use without post-treatment. LOCTITE® vacuum impregnation solutions provide resins that cure to an impermeable thermoset polymer. This makes it possible to permanently seal pores or leakpaths to enable quality lightweight, thin-walled die-casted parts or electronic components.
Impregnation Process
With an unmatched portfolio of LOCTITE® products and our fully automated vacuum impregnation methods, we can ensure that customers no longer face the negative effects of porosities, including cost of scrapping, loss of production, dissatisfied customers or even lost business. Our state-of-the-art impregnation process technology gives you a permanent and reliable sealing solution to the problems of porosities and leakages.
Vacuum Impregnation Products
Henkel’s LOCTITE® brand has a variety porosity sealants specifically made for metal casting and powder metal applications. The LOCTITE® product line includes liquid sealants for the effective sealing of various automotive parts. LOCTITE® porosity sealants effectively to remove air and then seal pores, helping prevent against air and fluid leaks throughout automotive systems.
Porosity sealant materials are applicable to different automotive areas such as the powertrain systems, air conditioning, hydraulic systems, and other power and fluid systems. Our porosity sealants provide high chemical resistance and are cleared from the surface with just water.
Vacuum Impregnation Services Options
Henkel offers on-site impregnation service centers, which includes the temporary installation of a small customized impregnation center directly on their site. Capital investment, products, process controls and labor belong to Henkel, directly on-site for fast and high-quality impregnation.
For customers that do not require a service center on-site, all of the advantages of Henkel sealing solutions are available from our external impregnation service centers - conveniently located around the world.

LOCTITE® Modular Sealing System
Offers production flexibility at an affordable investment price. Can function as a manual system or fully automated robotic system.
FARASEAL: Electrical and Electronic Vacuum Impregnation
Microscopic voids are inherent in many electronic assemblies, particularly where metals and plastics are assembled together. Our FARASEAL process seals even microscopic gaps and leak paths in critical electrical and electronic components, permanently sealing them from moisture, solvents, fluxes and other corrosive agents.
FARASEAL Applications:
- Connectors
- Sensors
- Plugs
- Coils and solenoids
- Pastic housings
- Plastic covers
- Over molded electronics
- Cables
- Wire harness
Die Cast Vacuum Impregnation
Metal casting impregnation allows you to make use of parts that would otherwise have to be scrapped due to structural defects. Our products have been developed to deliver consistently clean, leak-proof and sealed parts ready for just-in-time assembly.
Casting Impregnation Applications:
- Engine blocks
- Cylinder heads
- Engine covers
- Transmission cases
- Compressor components
- Cooling/oil pumps
- Crank case
- Torque converter housings
- Oil pans
