How to Reverse Abrasive Wear and Corrosion of Wastewater Treatment Facility Equipment

Abrasion wear and corrosion can become a major setback when it comes to the efficiency of your equipment.   1. Apply a brushable ceramic coating to grit pumps. Rebuilding and wear prevention products for grit pumps damaged by abrasion from water containing sand and stone, is a fast and reliable method for a long-lasting fix. To help protect its interior surfaces, LOCTITE® PC 7227™ Brushable Ceramic can provide an easy solution to reducing damage from corrosion, abrasion, and cavitation while increase efficiency.
  2. Apply a wearing compound to the inside of screw conveyors. Continuous smooth movement of sludge, grit, and biosolids through a screw conveyor is critically important. If the walls are not slippery enough, the media being carried can start to build up, thus decreasing efficiency. Applying LOCTITE® PC 7226™ Nordbak® Pneu-Wear to the conveyor interior will reduce premature wear, increase equipment life, and reduce overall operating cost of a facility.
  3. Apply a wear resistant putty to restore original pump dimensions. Severe corrosion and abrasive wear are common problems in process pumps. Using a repair and wear prevention product such as LOCTITE® PC 7222™ Nordbak® Wear Resistant Putty will help fill deep voids in the pump casing and impeller while applying it in a smooth layer with careful measurements to ensure correct pump dimensions. This repair process can be completed in less than five days versus waiting several months for a new pump delivery.
