The German Tech Entrepreneurship Center officially opened today
Henkel supports unique independent campus for entrepreneurs in Berlin
For the first time in Europe, the center will bring companies, universities, and entrepreneurs together under one roof, using a holistic approach for the facilitation of new technologies.
GTEC as an open platform brings together for business, science, and entrepreneurs of different branches with the aim of purposefully developing and commercializing innovations. With this approach, GTEC breaks with the predominant practice in Germany, in which individual incubators and programs are supported by singled corporations or universities. The platform has been founded by strong partners from industry, foundations, a law firm and the international business school ESMT. An independent team of experienced entrepreneurs and company founders leads GTEC.
Dr. Paolo Bavaj, Corporate Director New Business Development, Henkel Adhesive Technologies, described his company’s motivation to support GTEC: “We are constantly looking for promising startup companies, because they give us effective access to the latest trends and future technologies. GTEC is an important initiative to target and foster marketable ideas and establish an ecosystem for startups in Germany.”
GTEC is located on the campus of ESMT European School of Management and Technology directly on Schlossplatz 1 in the center of Berlin. For up to six months founders of new companies have the opportunity to present themselves to potential investors and supporters and to continue developing their business plans. Prerequisite is the work on innovative ideas with foreseeable technological progress that can be successfully brought to the market by GTEC’s partners.
